Our Story

Humanity Bridge Initiative (HBI) is a national NGO in South Sudan (Reg. No 6104) dedicated to transforming communities that are recovering from conflict and instability. HBI aims to bridge the gap between emergency relief and long-term sustainable development by connecting immediate humanitarian efforts with community-driven initiatives. Its mission is focused on empowering communities through inclusive programs in key areas: Health, Education, Livelihoods, Protection, and Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH).

HBI envisions a peaceful and self-reliant South Sudan, where every individual enjoys equal access to opportunities and sustainable development. The organization’s core values emphasize Human Dignity, Accountability, Community Ownership, Equity & Inclusion, and Resilience.

Reasons to partner with HBI include its locally-rooted approach combined with national impact potential, as it seeks to influence over 5 million lives across Africa by 2030. Each program is designed with active community participation, ensuring sustainability and relevance. HBI is also committed to innovation, utilizing local knowledge and modern technology to respond effectively to ongoing crises.

Additionally, HBI prioritizes resilience, viewing challenges as opportunities for growth and learning within communities. The organization maintains transparency and accountability through evidence-based decision-making, continuous learning, and open communication, all aimed at ensuring measurable impact.

By partnering with HBI, donors can help bridge hope, restore dignity, and transform lives across South Sudan and Africa at large.
